United Caps to Buy Dewit Plastics’ Caps, Closures and Handles Business

Luxembourg-based United Caps has agreed to acquire Dewit Plastics’ acquire caps, closures and handles business for an undisclosed sum.

Under the deal, United Caps will acquire screw, tamper-evident (TE) and child-resistant (CRC) closures, in addition to as handles for large containers.

Dewit will continue to operate its remaining injection moulding and thermoforming businesses.

The acquired business will allow United Caps to expand its portfolio of products for the customers.

United Caps CEO Benoît Henckes said: “Our clients turn to United Caps for innovative solutions to their closure needs, including bespoke solutions.

“By adding this new technology and expertise from Dewit Plastics, we better position ourselves as a single source for clients for their caps, closures, and now handles, requirements.” 

Dewit Plastics owner Alain Cap said: “Our customers for these products will be in good hands, and we will be better positioned to focus on our core injection moulding and thermoforming businesses.”

In May, United Caps said that it will open a new manufacturing facility in Malaysia. It is planning to build a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to meet increasing customer demand in the region for its caps and closures.

The company expects that the new plant will be fully operational in the first quart of 2018.

United Caps is engaged in the designing and manufacturing of performant plastic caps and closures, which can be used in a range of applications and markets.

With around 500 employees, the company has manufacturing facilities in Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Luxembourg and Spain.
