The First Edition of Prima Mu Held in Shanghai

The first edition of Prima Mu held in Shanghai brought together 900 selected garment firms and a total of 1,580 operators to the Hall hosting textile and accessories precollections, including 66 Italian exhibitors.

“63 per cent of exhibitors came from Europe, a majority of who were Italians, followed by 21 per cent participation from Asians and 6 per cent from the United States,” a Milano Unica press release said.

Top-end buyers came from Vuitton, Calvin Klein, Marina Rinaldi, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Max Mara, The Kooples, Paul Smith, Thomas Pink, Turnbull & Asser, Etro, Marni, Versace, Alexander McQueen, etc.

“This early edition was developed to provide a preview of new fabrics and accessories proposals to top-end clients, who were able to discuss the creation of personalised collections with producers,” the organiser added.

“I had mentioned about experimentation prior to the show, and now I can proudly say that the experiment has been successful,” Silvio Albini, president of Milano Unica said.

“The positive response from operators, not only Italian, now demands in-depth consideration on how to bring continuity to this event,” Albini added.

“Collaboration with Lineapelle has already proved positive for both the trade show appointments,” Massimo Mosiello, general manager of Milano Unica said.

“It will continue in New York on July 20, and then in Milan in September and in addition, Filo, the yarn fair, will join us in Shanghai in October, with the support of Sistema Moda Italia,” he too added.

“The unified voice of clients tells us that this winning formula developed by Milano Unica with far-sightedness to satisfy the needs of a significant part of the market has been successful,” it informed.

The next appointment will be in New York at the Jacob Javits Center from July 20-22, 2015 during New York Textile Week.

Milano Unica XXI will follow on September 8-10, 2015 with its innovations on trends and the On Stage event, in collaboration with Woolmark and the MonteNapoleone Association, sponsored by the City of Milan.

2015 will close with Milano Unica World in Shanghai which will take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center on October 13-15, 2015.
