ZF to Introduce New Technologies for Commercial Vehicles

Germany-based ZF Friedrichshafen is planning to introduce new technologies for commercial vehicles at the upcoming 2014 IAA trade fair.

ZF to Introduce New Commercial Vehicle Technologies

The company will showcase hybrid version of the TraXon automatic transmission system on its prototype truck.

The transmission system has been created using a combination of Servotwin superimposed steering system and telematics solutions from Openmatics, in its truck prototype.

The technology will also use PreVision GPS, which is capable of showing route ahead and selects the gears in accordance to a driver on their familiar daily route.

The company announced that it is reducing the weight of commercial vehicles by using suspension arms, rear axles, damper modules along with other systems from ZF.

ZF Friedrichshafen gave details of its telematics solution that operators will be able to use in a wide range of trucks and buses.

The company will also introduce an app named Profi Driver, which will contribute towards reducing vehicle wear, maintenance costs and fleet consumption, offering proactive driver training.
