Ford Motor Is Planning to Recall 12,569 Vehicles in The Home Market

US based auto mobile manufacturer Ford Motor is planning to recall 12,569 vehicles in the home market over the defective child locks.

The recall affects 2013 Ford Explorer, Taurus, and Lincoln MKS model vehicles that were produced between 29 November and 12 December 2012.

The Child locks of the rear doors are liable to fail allowing the children to unlock and open the back doors from inside.

According to the recall filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the defective parts were produced in Mexico and supplied to Ford by Brose.

The recall is expected to begin from 05 August 2013, under which the company will replace the faulty locks.

Earlier, the manufacturer had recalled 465,000 vehicles 2013 models of Ford including Explorer, Taurus, Flex, Fusion and Police Interceptor units due to the problem of fuel leakage.
