With The MSO 12c Still a Concept, Pricing and Availability Details Yet to Be Launch

A carbonfibre-clad concept car based on the McLaren MP4-12C has been revealed by the British marque's?in-house bespoke design service, McLaren Special Operations (MSO).

Dubbed the?MSO 12C?concept, the car adds an extensive list of carbonfibre trim upgrades to the standard McLaren MP4-12C. These include a revised bonnet, front wing louvres, rear wing vents, a unique airbrake spoiler, and a roof-mounted air scoop that channels air directly into the car's 460kW/600Nm twin-turbocharged?3.8-litre V6 engine.

On top of the carbonfibre addenda, titanium has been used for the car's wheel bolts and fuel filler cap, and there is a new design for the diamond cut wheels.

Inside, carbonfibre is used on the car's instrument cluster, which also features integrated shift lights, while black leather and gloss white trim round out the cabin upgrades.

Established 2011 with the launch of the 12C, MSO?is a design modification service McLaren says 20 per cent of its customers use. While it claims not to alter vehicle dynamics, MSO does offer aerodynamic upgrades to any new McLaren, aimed at further improving performance.

Earlier this year, the McLaren X-1 concept revealed the full extent of the service's potential, while the service will also be offered to all buyers of the 673kW/900Nm hybrid-powered?McLaren?P1?that recently claimed a successful?sub-seven-minute lap of Germany's famed Nurburgring.

With the MSO 12C still officially only a concept, pricing and availability details yet to be released.
