TCL Packaging Grows Continuously

The full financial year ending September 2014 saw TCL exceed the £10m sales barrier for the first time, capping off a record year with sales growth at over 10%.

Sales figures have continued at this level for the first six months of the current year.

The company supplies printed packaging films, predominantly to the UK market.

During the year the company made a seven-figure investment in new equipment including a third Uteco flexographic printing press, a second Rofin Baasel scribing unit and a fifth laminator – a new Laminastar 4 solvent-free laminator from DCM USIMECA.

Mike Golding, TCL managing director, said the latter part of 2014 saw “unprecedented” demand for printed and laminated packaging films as typical seasonal demands were expanded significantly by late requests for new films to meet a labelling deadline for the European food information regulations (FIR), and that this trend has continued into 2015.

“There is no doubt that confidence is returning to the market and the economy with strong demand for printed films,” he said. “Our investment in new plant and equipment was made at the right time to capitalise on this trend and we’re looking forward to a promising future as a leading independent company in the flexible packaging sector”

In 2014, the company moved to new At 21,000 sq m premises in Stafford Park, Telford.
