Autonet Mobile has partnered with AT&T to offer its next generation of connected car software to the automotive segment.
The new solution, which will run on AT&T 4G LTE network, will allow the user to access their cars using mobile phones, while Auto OEM's will be able to update their cars while on the road thereby safeguarding vehicle information when connected to the cloud.
With the technology and service management platform, car owners will have access to new features, including control vehicles with their smartphones, track vehicle locations, and receive vehicle health reports as well as alerts in case airbags are deployed.
Users can also connect their mobile devices to internet through the in-car WiFi hotspot.
Autonet Mobile president Philip Hughes said: "Commercial partnership like this with AT&T will accelerate the adoption of connected cars and deployment of new connected service capabilities.
"We have invented and patented several new technologies that could complement the AT&T Drive platform, and we look forward to showing them in the AT&T Drive Studio."
Autonet's technology is said to become a key tool for automakers to monitor how their vehicles perform as well as resolve problems while improving vehicle performance through over the air (OTA) updates.
Autonet Mobile provides connected car services using a platform that maintains secure and reliable wireless connectivity to vehicles in motion.
