Gucci Has Been Voted as The Top Italian Brand

Gucci, an Italian luxury fashion brand, has been voted as the top Italian brand in the annual Interbrand Top 100 Best Global Brands list for the 15th consecutive year.

Interbrand, a leading global consultancy firm in creating and managing brand value, has confirmed Gucci as the most valuable Italian brand in any sector, with a brand value of US$ 10.385 billion.

The president and chief executive officer of Gucci, Patrizio di Marco said, “Being recognized as the first Italian brand in any sector for the 15th year in a row and symbolically representing our country in such a challenging period, is an honour for us.”

“During the last six years, we have been shaping and implementing a clear repositioning strategy. The growth of the brand value reported by the Interbrand Top 100 Best Global Brands Ranking – despite one of the most uncertain and delicate macro and political scenarios - is a testament that the strategy is working,” he added.

Patrizio di Marco said, “Today, more than ever, Gucci’s value derives from a perfect balance act between tradition and innovation, represented by its renowned Italian heritage and its fashion authority.”

Interbrand publishes the top 100 brands based on a unique methodology, analyzing the many ways a brand touches and benefits an organization, from attracting top talent to delivering on customer expectation. The three key aspects that contribute to a brand’s value are the financial performance of the branded products or services, the role of the brand in the purchase decision process, and the strength of the brand that commands to a premium price, or secure earnings for the company.

Since 2004, when the Gucci brand value was estimated by Interbrand at US$ 4.7 billion, the Gucci brand has increased its value well over 100%.

The top five brands of the ranking are Apple, Google, Coca-Cola, IBM, and Microsoft.
