Mitsubishi Motors Is Selling Its Outlander Sport Utility SUV Assembled at Pcma Rus Plant

Mitsubishi Motors has started selling of its Outlander sport utility vehicle (SUV) assembled at PCMA Rus plant in the Kaluga region in Russia.

PCMA Rus plant is owned by both PSA Peugeot Citroenand Mitsubishi Motors.

In July 2012, the company first released the SUV to the Russian market after being exported from Japan.

PCMA Rus plant, which was opened in April 2010, had been producing the Peugeot and Citroen brand C-segment models and SUVs, in addition to the previous generation Outlander.

The full-scale production at the plant was started with the Peugeot 408 in July 2012 and was followed by full-scale assembly of MMC's new Outlander which commeneced in November 2012.

The company plans to bring a Citroen brand model to full-scale production in 2013, followed by production of MMC's Pajero Sport.

Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) has reported 34.2% increase in Outlander Sport sales to 1,520 units in November 2012, compared to the same period in 2011.
