Skoda Has Commenced The Production of The 2013 Octavia Combi

Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda has commenced the production of the 2013 Octavia Combi at the Mlada Boleslav plant, following its unveiling at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

The production facilities at the Mlada Boleslav plant have been expanded and modified by the company for manufacturing the Octavia Combi and Rapid models, while the capacity of the assembly line has been increased from 800 to 1,200 vehicles per day.

According to the company, Skoda has invested about EUR66m in the project and is planning to start a new logistics warehouse in order to deliver the parts and assemblies to production facility.

Skoda CEO Winfried Vahland said the company is making huge investments in its production.

"The fact that we produce two out of three cars in Europe shows how important our home base is," Vahland added.

The automobile manufacturer is planning to launch eight new or reengineered models into the market in 2013, while it plans to revamp its entire model range by 2015.
