IFFS Has Named Ernie Koh as Its New Chairman

Singapore:The International Furniture Fair Singapore(IFFS)has named Ernie Koh as its new chairman.

Mr Koh,who is executive director of Koda,has succeeded Andrew Ng,deputy CEO of Lorenzo International.Mr Ng will remain on the board of directors,continuing his long service to IFFS.

The organisation of IFFS marketing strategies,formulating business expansion plans and taking charge of the growth in global business are examples of tasks Mr Koh has to take on in future.

"I am honoured to be part of a dynamic team and I hope to play a significant role in promoting IFFS to be one of the best exhibition experiences for all delegates through tenancy remixing,introducing new spectrum of experiences and enhanced or innovative marketing and promotions,"Mr Koh said in a statement."There will be new challenges faced,but I am sure we will adopt clearly defined strategies and a creative approach to ensure healthy and continuous growth for IFFS,"he added.

Mr Koh holds the position as vice president of the Singapore Furniture Industries Council,which has an ownership stake in the annual furniture show usually held in early March.

Others on the seven-person board include Bert Choong,executive chairman of Nobel Design Holdings and a presidential advisor of SFIC;James Koh,deputy chairman and managing director of Koda and a presidential advisor of SFIC;Jerry Tan,managing director of Jaco Singapore;James Chia,chairman of MP International;and Sylvia Phua,CEO of MP International.
