Nissan Is Recalling Its 2013 Sentra Models Over Fuel Tank Problems

Japanese carmaker Nissan is recalling its 2013 Sentra models over fuel tank problems, as the affected vehicles may be equipped with improperly sealed fuel tank assemblies.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), about 392 Sentra models manufactured between 11 September 2012 and 4 October 2012 produced at Nissan's Aguascalientes, Mexico plant are affected by the recall.

Due to the manufacturing error, the affected Sentra vehicles may suffer fuel leaks, which would further increase the risk of a crash and / or injury.

Upon the launch of recall on 18 March, affected Sentra owners are advised to visit the dealerships and change their fuel tanks.

Additionally, Nissan is also recalling 2013 Nissan Altima sedan, the Leaf electric car, the Pathfinder SUV, the Sentra sedan and the Infiniti JX35 SUV over faulty sensor that may affect the deployment of front passenger air bags when required.
