Rainbow Foods Will Launch a New Nutritional Labeling Program, Health Key

Rainbow Foods, a subsidiary of the supermarket chain Roundy's, will launch a new nutritional labeling program, health key, for shelf tags at its stores in the US.

The company is expecetd to label the shelf tags with information regarding the features of the food products in order to facilitate buyers with allergies and other health concerns to sort out their requirements easily.

Under the program, the labeled products would pass through filters designed to avoid items with more fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, sugar, and sodium.

Roundy's senior marketing leader Dana Schueller said customers encounter a sea of package claims every day when they shop.

"Health key evaluates all products against the same rules, allowing customers to be confident that they're making consistent healthful choices throughout the store by following health key attributes," Schueller added.

The health key tags, which are expected to be colorful and easy-to-read, will be used for thousands of individual products across 163 Roundy's grocery stores in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois.
