Nvidia Announced Two Computing Platforms for Cars Which Include Drive CX

Nvidia has announced two computing platforms for cars which include Drive CX, a digital cockpit for cars, based upon the company’s X1 processor along with an image processing platform for self driving cars dubbed DRIVE PX.

The Drive CX, based on X1 processor includes an advanced visual computing architecture capable of power up to 16.6 megapixels on multiple displays.

Nvidia Co-Founder Jen-Hsun also highlighted the capability of NVIDIA DRIVE CX cockpit computer to run the digital instrument clusters and infotainment systems inside the car.

The image processing platform DRIVE PX is powered by Tegra X1 processors and will take inputs for 12 high-resolution camera which will facilitate drivers to search for open spot in the crowded garage and get into one with an expert series of turns.

NVIDIA PX is also capable of guiding the car out of the parking space and bring it back to the driver with a push of a button, the company claimed.

Jen-Hsun said: "Your future cars will be the most advanced computers in the world.

"There will be more computing horsepower inside a car than anything you own today."
