Bosch Develops New Capsule Filling Machines

Bosch Packaging Technology has launched new capsule filling machines, GKF 702 for small and medium-sized batches and the GKF 2500 equipped with a micro dosing station, in a bid to address the growing needs of the pharmaceutical industry.

Bosch product manager Melanie Beck said the GKF 702 can be used in the lab for extremely small batches and parameters required in future production operations can be simulated and defined.

"This makes it possible to fill very small batches for pharmaceutical or clinical purposes under realistic production conditions," Beck said.

The flexible GKF 702 capsule filling machine is suitable for all standard filling techniques. The slide-gate system featured on the 1400/2500 series machines is available for the machine, which increases batch yield significantly and enables filling of free-flowing granules and pellets.

The GKF 2500 machine designed to meet future needs, can be assembled and disassembled easily and can be used for hard-to-fill products. It addresses all requirements for pharmaceutical production and offers manufacturers a gentle filling process with need-based application.

According to Bosch, micro dosing of powders is used on the modular, flexible filling GKF 2500 machine, which enables customers to handle micro dosing with maximum yield and minimum deviation from standards. It is suitable for flexible processing of a wider range of products with a higher yield.
