Finland-based global developer and supplier of services and technologies for the pulp, paper and energy industries Valmet will build a new services centre in Indonesia.
The company said that Indonesia is one of the key markets of Valmet's products and services in Asia-Pacific.
The new centre will be located in Java island's Jakarta area and will commence operations from 2017.
The centre will serve Valmet's pulp, paper and energy customers throughout the Asia-Pacific area. Valmet has a large installed base in the area which will provide a good platform for services to grow.
Valmet business line president, services Jukka Tiitinen said: "We see good opportunities for services growth in the Asia-Pacific area. After the investment, we'll be able to provide our Asia-Pacific pulp, paper and energy customers with a much wider services offering.
"Our offering will expand to include roll services, boiler services, fiber workshop services, mill improvement solutions, paper machine clothing, and filter fabrics."
Valmet's Asia-Pacific service centres are located in Thailand, South Korea and Australia.

Employing over 11,000 people, Valmet specialises in producing entire pulp mills, tissue, board and paper production lines, as well as power plants for bio-energy production.
