The Sales of Ssangyong Increase 15.2%

Ssangyong Motor, a part of Mahindra Group, has reported sales of 10,761 units in March 2013, a 15.2% increase, compared to the same month prior year.

The company's cumulative sales registered an 18.2% rise against the same period last year, driven by the Korando brand family that includes Korando C, Korando Sports, and Korando Turismo models.

In the Domestic market, the company sold 4,924 vehicles, a 30.1% year-on-year growth, while the cumulative sales grew 37% against the same period previous year.

The company sold 1,585 and 1,534 units of the Korando C and Korando sports vehicles, an increase of 21.8% and 6.8% respectively, compared to the previous month of the same year.

Driven by the sales of the Rexton W and Korando Sports, the company's exports experienced 5% rise, while the cumulative sales were up 7.4% in March 2013.

Ssangyong Motor CEO Lee Yoo-il said, "We have been receiving an overwhelming response from the market as well as creating new demand by building up the Korando Family Brand successfully."
