McCormick to Expand Organic and Non-GMO Herbs and Spice Range

US-based spice manufacturer McCormick & Company has announced expansion of its organic and non-GMO herbs and spices range.

The company is introducing a non-GMO labeled Vanilla Extract and also plans to boost the number of organic and non-GMO offerings in 2016. The non-GMO Vanilla extract is being shipped and will be available in stores soon.

The flavor maker is making several changes to its portfolio in the next 12 months. It has announced that 80% of its Gourmet spices and herbs business in the US will be organic and non-GMO by 2016.

Currently, the company mostly offers non-GMO products. To help consumers in differentiating products and to preserve transparency and educating the consumers about the product, the company will label its non-GMO offerings.

McCormick's president and COO Lawrence Kurzius said: "Our consumers are increasingly interested in quality flavors with pure ingredients in their food.

"Our effort to increase our Organic and Non-GMO offerings proves that we are listening to consumers and are committed to continuing to evolve."
