Ford Hope to Rise The Sale of Four Cylinder Vehicles

Ford Motors expects that the sale of four cylinder vehicles will soar in the US, powering about 66% of the vehicles.

The US automaker said that more than half of vehicles in the country now sport four cylinder engines, which is expected to grow by 2020, with the implementation of fuel-efficiency standards by the US government.

With the Corporate Average Fuel Economy, or CAFE coming into effect, large number of cars, SUVs and trucks are expected to shift to four-cylinder engines by the end of the decade.

The company already added four-cylinder engines its line up like the Escape compact SUV and these smaller engines with the help of turbocharging and direct injection can give similar output of six-cylinder engines while offering fuel saving, according to detroitnews.com.

The shift will be mainly aimed at fuel economy as the automakers are expected to meet the US government mandated fleet average of 54.5 miles per gallon of fuel by 2025.
