Volkswagen Was Ordered to Recall 200, 000 Tiguan SUVs by China

The Chinese Government has ordered Volkswagen to recall over 207,000 Tiguan sport-utility vehicles over defective lights.

China's quality watchdog General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said that there could possibly be a defect in the fuses lights in the SUVs, which is likely to lead to accidents.

The German automaker will recall 189,770 Tiguan SUVs made in China and 18,008 others imported. They were produced or imported between May 2009 and November 2011.

The company said, starting Nov 25, it will fit new improved fuses in the place of the existing ones, to avoid any safety hazard.

The current recall is the second by Volkswagen in China this year. In March, it had to recall about 384,000 vehicles due to gearbox defects.
