HMA Has Kicked off The Production of Its Redesigned 2016 Honda Pilot SUV

Honda Manufacturing of Alabama (HMA) has kicked off the production of its redesigned 2016 Honda Pilot SUV set to hit the stores in June in the US.

The new variant, which can carry up to eight passengers and flaunts a direct-injected i-VTEC V-6 engine, has a spacious and family-friendly cabin.

It also features Honda Sensing, a safety and driver-assistive technology capable of preventing collision or diminishing its severity; a more powerful and efficient new powertrain; and new styling.

The new model is among the Honda light-truck category that boasts the 2015 Motor Trend Sport Utility of the Year, the 2015 Honda CR-V.

Right from design to production, the model has been a complete 'Made in US' story.

The Pilot, which debuted in the 2003 model year, has thus witnessed its three generations undergoing its development stages by Honda R&D Americas at its Los Angeles design studio and Raymond, Ohio R&D center.

Honda R&D Americas chief engineer Marc Ernst said: "We advanced Pilot's dual-purpose character by increasing both family utility and personal sophistication to meet the needs of the driver and passengers in every dimension of their life."
