IAC Expands in China, Inaugurating Its Facility Located in Hangzhou

Automotive interiors supplier International Automotive Components (IAC) has expanded in China, inaugurating its facility located in Hangzhou.

Sprawled over 78,577ft2, the Hangzhou plant will generate over 220 employment opportunities.

Located in the vicinity of regional logistics hubs and several OEM customer assembly units, the new unit will make door panel and center console assemblies for Changan Ford.

It will also make door trim components for Shanghai General Motors and instrument panel and center console components for Chery Jaguar Land Rover.

With this, the company has opened 11th unit across seven countries during the past two years, raising the count of facilities to 102 worldwide. The facility in Hangzhou becomes the company's 14th unit in China since 2006, contributing to the total number of locations in Asia at 29.

IAC North Asia region senior vice-president Brian Pour said: "Our new Hangzhou operation reflects our on-going commitment to support our global customers with premium interior manufacturing capabilities in line with their global platform strategies.

"Our premium cut, sew and wrapping operations at this plant join 20 other IAC locations around the world, further exemplifying a vertical integration strategy that differentiates IAC from many competitors and brings added value to our customers."

Besides, the new plant will also cater to consumers by providing cut, sewn and wrapped interior components and other solutions with custom stitch patterns.
