Danish food packaging specialist Faerch Plast has supplied new dual colour CPET trays in sage & cream to British food firm Greencore for the re-launch of Tesco's core Italian ready meal range.
The move comes as Greencore challenged Faerch Plast to revamp its existing trays with minimal changes to pack designs or sizes.
The new CPET trays will be used for packaging Tesco's core Italian ready meal range including beef lasagne, spaghetti Bolognese, meatball pasta and sausage pasta.
Faerch Plast claims that its CPET trays feature dual ovenability and a wide temperature tolerance from -4F degrees to 430F degrees, for freezer-to-oven or microwave convenience. These trays help food to retain its flavour and aroma.
Faerch Plast key account manager Vicki Parker said: "Our state-of-the-art production technology and modern, efficient extrusion capabilities enabled us to develop the innovative dual colour CPET trays which are already proving popular amongst customers.
"This completely different packaging format separates ranges on the supermarket shelf, whilst the eye-catching colour combinations help inspire and direct consumers to the products they are looking for or wish to try."
Faerch Plast already supplies two dual colour trays in black & terracotta and black & silver for the Tesco Finest range.
