Toyo Tire North America Manufacturing (TNA) has broken ground on a project to expand its 2,000,000ft2 tire manufacturing plant in White, Georgia.

The project will add 700,000ft2 to the plant. It will also expand the warehouse section of the plant by 323,000ft2 in order to accommodate the demand for Toyo Tires and Nitto brand premium light truck and passenger car tires.

TOYO TIRE & RUBBER, parent company of TNA, will invest $371m in the TNA expansion over the next four years. This investment will result in the creation of 650 new jobs in the State of Georgia.

Parent company, TOYO TIRE & RUBBER CO., LTD. of Osaka, Japan, is investing $371m in the TNA expansion over the next four years. This investment will result in the creation of 650 new jobs in Georgia.

TNA president Jim Hawk said: "This plant, and the people who work in it, play an important role in supporting consumers and our dealers as demand for our products continues to grow. This fourth expansion will help us answer that demand."

Started in 2004, the TNA manufacturing plant includes a proprietary automated production system, advanced tire operation module (ATOM).
