Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company's Dalian Plant in China Has Commenced Operations

Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company’s Dalian plant in China has commenced operations.

The plant has gross floor area of 1.32 million m2, and it will be focusing on the production of sports utility vehicle.

Dongfeng Nissan has invested $813m in the first of the two phases which is aimed at having initial production capacity of 150,000 units per year.

After the completion of the second phase, the total capacity is expected to increase to 300,000 units per year.

The company claims that the eco standard and the manufacturing technology are aligned with the global standards of Nissan and it is expected to be the production hub for Nissan SUVs.

Nissan Motor Chief Performance Officer Trevor Mann said: "The Dalian plant is a statement of our commitment to China and our efforts to continue delivering high-quality products to Chinese consumers nationwide.

"Starting today our fresh and innovative X-Trail model will be produced in the Dalian Plant, and I am confident that these cars will enrich the daily lives of many in China."
