Construction Continues on Enmax's Shepard Energy Centre

Construction continues on Enmax’s Shepard Energy Centre: an 800MW natural gas-fired generation facility capable of producing enough electricity to meet over half of the city of Calgary’s current power requirements. Want to see how construction is coming along?

Construction cameras have been installed on-site, allowing you to follow the facility’s progress from the installation of the turbines to the beginning days of operation through archived photos taken on site every 20 minutes.

Pick a camera and use the navigation tools on the left to zoom in or out of the images. If you want to travel back in time, select a date on the calendar to view what the project looked like weeks ago, or use the small arrows near the bottom to go back by the hour. A daily panorama image is also available, and a LIVE option is available on Camera 2.

Upon its completion in 2015, Enmax says the Shepard Energy Centre will be the largest natural gas-fired generation facility of its kind in Western Canada.
