The Lexus ES Has Already Made a Mark with Receiving a 5 Star Safety Rating

Just months after being introduced to the market, the Lexus ES has already made a mark with receiving a 5 star safety rating. Recently, in crash tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the redesigned 2013 Lexus ES earned a 5 star overall rating, the best possible score.

Standard safety features in the 2013 Lexus ES include four wheel ABS brakes, front and rear head air bags, dual front side-mounted air bags, passenger air bag sensing deactivation, child seat anchors, rear door child safety locks, remote anti theft alarm system, engine immobilizer, electronic brake assist, electronic brake force distribution, stability and traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system and more.

The 2013 Lexus ES is equipped with a 3.5 liter, V6 engine churning out 300 HP and 248 feet lb of torque. This is mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission along with a choice of ECO, Normal and Sport modes. The Lexus ES has an athletic look on the outside. This is accentuated by Lexus' signature spindle grille and curvy rear flanks. Beneath the bumper is a large air intake flanked by round driving lights. The headlights have a rectangular shape that is extended at the cross corners.

The ES' side profile has a coupe like shape including a low roof line. At the rear the ES has a broad and solid stance. All necessary information is provided to the driver through round gauges which are conveniently located at the outer edges. The door panels and dash contain nicely finished wood inserts. A classy looking round clock is located in between the centre air vents.
