Ford and DTE Energy Have Joined Forces to Build a Large Solar Array

Ford and DTE Energy have joined forces to build a large solar array at the Ford World Headquarter in Michigan.

The solar array will provide 360 covered parking space along with 30 charging stations to plug in electric vehicles. It will be able to generate 1.038MW of electricity, while emitting 794 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Ford Motor Land Development chairman and CEO Donna Inch said: "We are thrilled to be collaborating with DTE Energy to bring a more efficient, renewable energy source to our offices.

"This is an innovative project that will benefit both DTE Energy and Ford, and is yet another example of our work toward building a more sustainable future."

This is the second time both the companies have teamed up, after installing a 500kW solar photovoltaic panel system at Ford's Wayne Plant.
