Honda Motors Will Recall More Than Two Million Vehicles in The US

Japanese automaker Honda Motors will recall more than two million vehicles in the US under three different recalls to replace front driver's and passenger's airbag inflators.

The recall is said to be specific to states and US territories with high absolute humidity.

Front airbag inflators in the affected vehicles may potentially deploy with too much pressure, resulting in rupture of the inflator casing leading to injury.

Honda has claimed to be aware of one claimed injury involving a driver's front airbag, but there are no reports of any other injuries or fatalities related to the recall.

The passenger's front airbag inflator is said to be defective in certain 2002-2003 Honda Civic, CR-V and Odyssey; 2003 Honda Accord, Element, Pilot and Acura MDX models.

High humidity regions such as Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands are expected to affect the passenger's front airbag inflator.

Vehicles affected include 2003-2005 Honda Accord, Civic, CR-V, Element, and Pilot as well as 2003-2004 Honda Odyssey, 2003-2005 Acura MDX and 2005 Acura RL models.
