Luxoft to Launch Its Computer Vision and Augmented Reality Solution

Luxoft, a leading provider of software development services and innovative IT solutions to a global client base, today announced the launch of its Computer Vision and Augmented Reality solution. The software framework is optimized for embedded hardware, and helps implement a wide range of in-car Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) functionality quickly and cost-efficiently.

The computer vision and augmented reality solution encompasses road recognition, vehicles detection and tracking, and a single camera-based egomotion engine. The feature-rich and robust solution supports seamless navigation integration, and maps and sensor data fusion. The framework augments drivers' visual reality with supplementary objects in real time, and works with various output devices such as head unit displays, digital clusters, head-up and optical head-mounted displays.

"Car's human machine interface is the key to building both a unique user experience and differentiating the brand," said Luxoft's Global Business Development Director of Automotive, Serkan Arslan. "By adding the computer vision and augmented reality features to the human machine interface, an automaker takes the user experience to the entirely new level. Vital alerts and road information can be displayed on a windscreen or a head-mounted wearable device. This is one of the key enabling technologies for not only the digital user experience, but the future autonomous driving."

The use cases for Luxoft's computer vision and augmented reality solution include active parking search, adaptive cruising, augmented navigation, road and traffic sign recognition, and assistance in a low visibility mode. The framework is ready for the use with the real-depth head-up displays with wide field of view.

"Our software framework blends cutting edge technologies such as machine learning and pattern recognition, and enables a number of breakthrough capabilities, including augmented navigation, adaptive cruising, road sign recognition and more," said Luxoft's Managing Director for Automotive and Transport, Mikhail Bykov. "Combined with Luxoft's professional engineering services, the framework can be implemented quickly and cost-efficiently."
