The car is powered by one-liter, three-cylinder gasoline 1.0 ECOTEC (EcoTec turbo banger) engine, capable of producing 75 horsepower.

Karl will provide five-speed transmission and feature city mode, which has been designed to reduce steering effort at the push of a button, a technology already present in Opel ADAM.

It features Park Assist which is expected to prevent unwanted bumps when parking, Cruise control with speed limiter that keeps the vehicle within legal speed, along with fog lights and cornering lights for better visibility of the road and passenger safety.

For the comfort of passengers Opel has used heated leather steering wheel, optional heated front seats and sunroof in the vehicle.

Karl is 3.68-meter long and has plenty of head and leg room for a comfortable ride, and for entertainment Opel has added IntelliLink infotainment system, which can be integrated with iOS and Android devices.

Opel Group CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann said: "KARL offers typical Opel virtues starting with the high-tech, quiet one-liter, three-cylinder engine and by no means ending with our award-winning IntelliLink infotainment system.

"The Opel KARL is the ideal car for price-conscious customers looking to combine everyday suitability with comfort and modern technologies."

The car will be available to customers in the summer of 2015.
