Smithfield Farmland Expand Its Product Portfolio with The Introduction of Fresh Pork Line

Smithfield Farmland, a subsidiary of US-based pork processor and hog producer Smithfield Foods, has expanded its product portfolio with the introduction of new fresh pork line.

Smithfield Farmland Expands Portfolio with New Pork Range

Available under Smithfield and Farmland brand names, the new Prime range is said to be 20% more tender than other leading brands of non-enhanced natural pork, the company claims.

Smithfield Farmland Prime line is produced under a USDA Process Verification Program that ensures no beta-agonist growth promotants are used.

According to the company, Prime products are sourced from market hogs created by the Smithfield Farmland proprietary Duroc line and are segregated from the general population during processing at facilities to meet stringent quality standards.

Smithfield Pork Quality director Roger Johnson said: "Smithfield Farmland PRIME is a product of the USA that is sourced from market hogs sired by a proprietary Duroc line that are raised without beta-agonist growth promotants and no hormones and steroids.

"Not all pork is created equal and we're confident that when consumers experience PRIME they'll be able to see the exceptional color and increased marbling, and taste the tenderness and flavor difference."
