Stora Enso Is Set Improve Tambrite Packaging Board by Reducing The Basis Weight

Finnish pulp and paper manufacturer Stora Enso is set improve the efficiency and environmental performance of Tambrite packaging board by reducing the basis weight.

The manufacturer will introduce the new, lower grammage range Tambrite packaging board that is said to allow smooth switch as well as flexible board deliveries to all customers using it.

The move is also expected to reduce the packaging board's environmental impact, while offering the same runnability, stiffness, print results and packaging performance.

Stora Enso General Packaging Segment director  ystein Aksnes said Tambrite will be an even more efficient and environmentally friendly choice than ever before.

"Yet it will offer the same outstanding performance in the most demanding applications such as pharmaceutical packaging with laser or inkjet coding or Braille embossing," Aksnes added.

"We are pleased to present Tambrite as the number one choice for pharmaceutical, food and chocolate brand owners who look for excellent packaging performance and value for money."

The reduction of the basis weight is claimed to offer benefits across the supply chain by generating savings in raw materials, less weight in storage and transportation, less packaging waste and fees, as well as a lower carbon footprint.

Produced at Stora Enso Ingerois Mill in Finland, Tambrite is a carton board brand, which is used in pharmaceutical, food, chocolate and confectionery packaging.

Additionally, Stora Enso's supply chain management process and effective sheeting services are said to offer quick board deliveries.
