Installing Pet Bottling Line at Bon Accord Plant in Bulawayo by Delta Beverages

Delta Beverages has announced the installation of a new $12.3m polyethylene terephathlate (PET) plastic bottling line at the Bon Accord Sparkling Beverages plant in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

The new plant, which has a capacity of 15000 bottles per hour in a range of 300ml and 500ml volumes, can also run 1000ml and 2000ml bottles at 14500 bottles per hour and 12000 bottles per hour, respectively.

Delta Beverages southern region general manager Cynthia Malaba told Radio VOP that the plant will perform bottling, filling, capping, labeling, wrapping and palatalizing operations.

"The PET bottling line was acquired from KHS, a Germany based company and it came up with back up spares and technical assistance from KHS South Africa," Malaba said.

The plant is expected to address the increased market demands of the company's products in the Southern region especially. It is the third investment after two packaging lines at Delta's Graniteside plant in Harare.
