Faber Presents Two New Cooker Hoods Featuring Sil-K Act Noise Reduction Technology

At Eurocucina 2014 Faber presented two cooker hood models: the product of ground-breaking research and innovation featuring Sil-K ACT, the only technology to actively reduce perceived noise, the latest new development for performance with maximum silence, and pure design giving Infinity ACT and Jolie ACT an exclusive contemporary allure.

The spotlight at Faber's Eurocucina stand will be on innovative Sil-K ACT technology for cutting noise pollution by transforming sound. Faber, which invented the extractor hood in 1955, has applied sophisticated Active Noise noise reduction system to a home appliance for the first time. After recording it directly from the source, Sil-K ACT creates an opposite wave form to cancel out the original one, eliminating all acoustic perceptions and cutting emissions by 13 decibels compared to another model of the same capacity.

Adapted from systems for cutting noise emissions used to attenuate perceived noise in aeronautics and automotive, Sil-K ACT, developed in partnership with Silentium, an Israeli leader in development of silent technologies, has been made even more powerful for use on a wide variety of models on display at Eurocucina 2014, starting with vertically installed cooker hoods such as Infinity and Jolie. An internal microphone measures the original acoustic signal and decodes it in order to emit push-pull output which shifts the frequency of the sound toward lower tones to make perceived noise less bothersome.

"Silentium enabled" products substantially reduce noise pollution at the source, said Yoel Noar, Silentium Chief Product Officer, by using Silentium's unique and patented spatial active noise reduction technology, Faber is presenting a family of superior "Silentium enabled" products. A personal silent-zone (the "Quiet-Bubble" seat) for protecting individuals from surrounding noise, is presented during Eurocucina at the Faber stand".

Made of tempered glass in white, black or warm grey, Infinity and Jolie, (which are also available without the valuable silencing device), put cutting-edge technology at the service of practicality in the kitchen. High performing, thanks to a double perimeter extraction, Infinity, with its rounded double glass panel, gives the cooker the purest linearity and lightness, made even clearer by the EVO touch control and the energy-saving LED bar at the bottom. Jolie, with its intentionally minimalist surface, has a small central slit providing access to electronic controls.
