Taipei,Sept.7,2012--Unity Opto Technology Co.,Ltd.,I-Chiun Precision Industry Co.,Ltd.,Leadlink Optics Inc.,Lextar Electronics Corp.and Formosa Epitaxy Inc.are expected to have brisk sales last month,with some even expected to set new highs.
According to industry executives,Unity Opto,I-Chiun,and Leadlink saw sales hit new highs in July and are estimated to score another high in August in the regularly busy third quarter.
They said capacity utilization of Taiwan's LED industry is still on the climb,leading to satisfactory earnings in the first half of this year at most of the island's LED makers.They felt that these manufacturers would be more profitable in the third quarter than the second quarter.
Unity Chairman Alpha Wu pointed out that the company had landed orders in excess of NT$950 million(US$31 million at US$1:NT$30)in August thanks to strong orders from mainland China's color-TV makers for LED backlights.
I-Chiun is another beneficiary of the mainland's brisk backlight demand,expecting its monthly sales to further increase after rising an estimated 10%in August from July.
Leadlink stays competitive in the LED-lit TV market from light nonuniformity of full LED array backlights,which need secondary optic lens from suppliers like Leadlink to skew the inherent shortcoming.The company has won huge number of orders from TV makers in mainland China and South Korea.Industry executives estimated the company's sales for August would set a new high.
Formosa Epitaxy's sales have been on the rise since beginning of this quarter.Improved product mixes have promoted industry executives to give the company positive forecast on its sales for coming months.
Swarming backlight orders from mainland China have promoted Lextar executives to comment that the company's sales for August would increase from July and sales for the third quarter would improve from the second quarter.
