Mazda Thinks of 42, 000 Mazda6 Vehicles in Us

Mazda North America Operations (Mazda) has issued a voluntary recall on 42,000 Mazda6 vehicles of certain model year 2010-2012 in the US, due to problem with the evaporative canister vent hose.

According to the company, in the affected vehicles, the evaporative canister vent hose will block as there is a chance of spiders weaving a web inside it. This may also create an excessive amount of negative pressure on the fuel tank, resulting in the risk of fire.

Mazda6 vehicles affected under this recall were manufactured from 14 September 2009, through 2 May 2011, and were equipped with 2.5L engine.

Dealers of the automaker will reprogram the powertrain control module and inspect and clean the canister vent line.

They will also replace the fuel tank and check valve on canister vent line, if there are any signs of web in the line.

The recall is expected to begin in April 2014 and Mazda will notify owners the owners of the vehicles.
