Volvo Buses Delivered 17 New Hybrid Buses

Volvo Buses has delivered 17 new hybrid buses - Volvo 7900 Hybrid - to Oslo, Norway on 6 October 2013, which will be operated by the Nettbuss st, a part of the Nettbuss Group.

Currently, the Nettbuss Group has 43 Volvo hybrids in its fleet of buses and there are more than 80 Volvo hybrid buses in service in the country.

The new buses are the second generation hybrids from Volvo and will offer 39% less fuel consumption compared to conventional diesel buses, reported automotiveworld.com.

All the 17 buses are customized with many features including the installation of an electrically-heated windscreen.

Nettbuss st regional director Per Nilsen was quoted by the news website as saying: "Hybrid technology is relatively new and requires special skills and it is therefore reassuring for us to have this service contract with Volvo Buses."

Nettbuss st will contract out maintenance and service operations to Volvo Bus rather than doing it themselves.
