Cree Announces Next-Generation LED Fixture

Next-Generation LR6-10L LED Fixture Delivers Exceptional Energy Savings and Long Lifetime to Obsolete Outdated Fluorescent and CFL Lighting DURHAM, NC -- Cree (Nasdaq: CREE) introduces the LR6-10L six-inch LED downlight delivering 1000 lumens of exceptional 90+ CRI light while achieving 90 lumens per watt. This breakthrough performance is achieved by combining the high efficacy and high-quality light of Cree TrueWhite® Technology with an integrated driver, enabling energy savings of up to 50 percent compared to incumbent CFL technology or 30 percent compared to competing LED products. Using only 11 watts of power, the new LR6-10L downlight is ideal for use in new or retrofit commercial applications.

“The latest Cree LR6 downlight showcases what’s possible with LED lighting,” said Greg Merritt, vice president, lighting at Cree. “When you consider the industry-leading efficacy, energy savings and long lifetime, I see no reason to specify a CFL or incandescent downlight again.”

Cree TrueWhite Technology delivers beautiful light and maintains color consistency over the rated lifetime of the product, all while maintaining high luminous efficacy – a true no-compromise solution.

The high-performance fixture is available in color temperatures to match existing installations of incandescent, halogen and fluorescent technologies (2700 K, 3000 K, 3500 K and 4000 K). Featuring a 10-year warranty and dimmable to five percent on a broad range of dimmers, the Cree LR6-10L LED Downlight is also ENERGY STAR® qualified. The high standard of performance opens up opportunities for more incentives and rebates available from utilities and other entities – further lowering barriers to mass LED adoption.

The LR6-10L is sold through Cree lighting sales channels. Please visit www.cree.com/lrseries for additional information.
