Continental Announces a Voluntary Recall Program Involving 8,500 Passenger Vehicle Tires

Continental has announced a voluntary recall program involving approximately 8,500 passenger vehicle tires.

The tires involved in the recall are Continental ContiProContact 225/45 R17 91 H produced between February and May 2015 and sold in the replacement market in the US(4,884 tires), Canada (2,032 tires) and Mexico (1,551 tires).

The tires may experience loss of air pressure. The tires can be identified with the Department of Transportation (DOT) code P5TY PXH6 0815 through P5TY PXH6 1915. Continental has not received any reports of accidents or injuries resulting from this condition.

Continental notified the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the details of the recall on July 15, 2015.

The company is in communication with its tire distributors and dealers to identify consumers who purchased affected tires. Owners will be promptly notified and informed about the details of the voluntary safety recall program.
