Alvanon Announces That ED Gribbin and Howard Have Been Invited to Present at Texprocess

Alvanon, the world’s leading apparel size and fit expert, has announced that its president, Ed Gribbin and Don Howard, executive director of its AlvaInsight consultancy division have both been invited to present at Texprocess Americas 2014, North America’s largest exhibition of equipment and technology for the development, sourcing and production of sewn products. 

Texprocess 2014 is being held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta , Georgia from May 13th to 15th, 2014.  Alvanon will also be showing its world class product sizing development tools and specialist consultancy services at Booth 3453. Tools and services include the AlvaForm range of fit mannequins from children to adult, plus size, specialty forms such as the Intimate/Swim form, plus the AlvaBlock pattern grading and development solution. Alvanon will also showcase tools for the academic sector and demonstrate its new training modules for its Professional Development Series program.

Ed Gribbin’s presentation, entitled “How technology and process modernization are lowering costs and shortening lead times,” will feature in the Texprocess Americas Symposium in the "Fit, sizing and virtual try-on technologies" session on Tuesday, May 13th from 9.30 to 11.30 am. 

Don Howard will present “Aesthetic fit and technical fit – best practices for achieving both,” at the Technology Solutions Theatre on Wednesday  May 14th at 10.30 to 11.00 a.m.  The “Fit, sizing and virtual try-on technologies session” will examine the increasingly significant role being played by advanced body scanning, fit, sizing, sampling and 3D virtual try-on technologies in the quest to digitalize and customize the consumers’ fashion experience.

Ed Gribbin. Don Howard, executive director, AlvaInsight, Alvanon, Inc. has over 25 years of experience in the wholesale, vertical retail, design and manufacturing of women’s apparel. His expertise includes leading technical design and product development teams, with an emphasis on the preproduction process, and establishing and maintaining consistency of sizing and fit. He has a passion for teaching the subject at all levels of experience.

He joined Alvanon in 2010 as a consultant and was named executive director of the AlvaInsight consulting team, April 2013. He previously served as vice president of technical design for Ann Taylor, where he established and maintained excellence in product fit and quality. His responsibilities included global technical organization, selection development of talent and employee improvement programs in the technical design arena. 

Prior to Ann Taylor, Don was senior director of technical design/quality assurance for Retail Brand Alliance and was pre production manager for Ellen Tracy. Earlier in his career, he served as a production manager for the couture houses of Pauline Trigere and Arnold Scassi.
