Sainsbury's Has Appointed Jane Skelton as Its New Head of Packaging

EXCLUSIVE – Supermarket giant Sainsbury’s has appointed Jane Skelton as its new head of packaging, replacing Stuart Lendrum who has been given a new role as the retailer’s head of sustainable and ethical sourcing

While driving innovation, quality and value across the business, Lendrum has built up a well-recognised track record for adopting best environmental practise wherever possible. For example, he was instrumental in introducing the on-pack recycling labelling system and compostable film for fresh produce.

He will now focus on sustainable and ethical sourcing issues, such as food waste.

Skelton’s new role will be packaging and print technology manager.

With a background in design and 13 years experience across the retail packaging sector, focusing on packaging technology and production, Skelton has been with Sainsbury’s for the last five years, driving forward activity focusing on packaging reduction, innovation and major sub brand developments.

Taking up the role as print and packaging technology manager she will head up packaging within Sainsbury’s food/grocery business. She will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of Sainsbury’s ambitious packaging strategy.
