The Sales of Heavy Trucks Are Decreasing in April as Expected

The sales of heavy trucks are decreasing in April as expected, and we cannot find any hot sales in the traditional peak season. And 57,000 heavy trucks are sold in April, down 16% over March, and down 35% over last year, and this is even bigger than the 30.3% decreasing in March.

The figure indicates that China heavy trucks have been shrinking for nine consecutive months, and the sales is the lowest in the last eight years, which is comparable to April in 2012 when the sales were 62,379 units.

For each truck makers, Dongfeng sold 13,000 units in April, ranking the first, down 28% over last year, and Sinotruk sold 9,500 units, down 36% over last year and FAW sold 9,000 units, down 37% over last year, and Shacman sold 9,000 units, down 25%, Foton Motor sold 7,500 units, down 45%over last year and JAC sold 2,300 units, down 49%, CAMC, Beiben and SIH sold 1,750 units, 900 units and 883 units, down 25%, 30% and 75% over last year. And Dayun sold 1,404 units, up 13% over lats year, and they are the only truck makers with increasing sales.

191,600 heavy trucks were sold from Jan to April in China, down 34% over last year. And Dongfeng sold 43,400 units, down 24% over last year, Sinotruk sold 34,000 units, down 30%, FAW sold 28,300 units, down 40%, Shacman and Foton sold 28,000 units and 24,700 units, down 32% and 43%, JAC sold 11,200 units, down 27% over last year, which is lower than the average industry. CAMC, Beiben and Hongyan sold 5,852 units, 3,350 units and 3,010 units, down 29%, 23% and 73% over last year. And Dayun Auto sold 4,656 units, down 11%.
