Cooley Group Announced Today The Launch of Coolguard® PW

Cooley Group, a global designer, developer, and manufacturer of sustainable engineered membranes, announced today the launch of Coolguard® PW, a premier product designed for reservoir liner and floating cover applications requiring NSF 61-certification. Cooley's newest membrane was developed by applying the proven chemistry of its Coolguard® product line, which is used for oil boom, pond liner, portable berm, and secondary containment solutions.

"Coolguard®'s consistently high performance is attributable to the chemistry," explains Naresh Mehta, Cooley Group's Director of Research & New Product Development. "Coolguard® utilizes Dupont™ Elvaloy® (KEE), a terpolymer component of a proprietary alloy material. This alloy makes Coolguard® intrinsically resistant to hydrocarbons and other chemicals in challenging environmental applications where standard flexible PVC would not stand up."

Cooley's Coolguard® membrane was first introduced in 1992 and was based on the successful Cooley C3® commercial roofing product line. Since its commercialization in 1990 and with over 1 billlion sqaure feet of installation, Cooley C3® has never experienced a material roofing failure in the field. Coolguard® 78, the first product offered in the Coolguard® product line, is used as a primary and secondary liner in a diverse set of customer applications, including water containment for the Bonneville Power Administration in the Pacific Northwest and secondary containment for the Anchorage International Airport, among others.

Coolguard® PW is NSF 61-certified (Drinking Water System Components) and has an industry-leading warranty of up to 30 years. It is available in widths up to 10 feet, as well as in tan color for optimal reflectivity and low transmissivity. Coolguard® PW is designed and certified for drink water systems but can also be used in any critical water application requiring high-performance membrane material, including water containment for brine ponds, gray water, waste water, fisheries, and fire ponds.
