Malouf Strengthens Its Sales Team

Malouf has recently restructured its sales team with the appointment of six regional sales managers and one international sales manager to its in-house staff. The company also named Mike Douglas as vice president of sales.

The newly-organized sales structure creates more support for retailers by sectioning the U.S. into six regions managed through its internal team. The regional sales managers work from the company’s Utah-based headquarters to provide support in tandem with its outside sales force of 70 reps located throughout the country. As vice president of sales, Douglas oversees the team and helps manage key accounts; among other sales activities.

CEO Sam Malouf said, “We are very happy with the growth we’ve seen in the industry and especially the achievements of our team over the past year. The rapid changes in our business mean new solutions need to be created to support our retail partners effectively. Mike brings the vision we need for continued growth and our regional managers have a proven skillset to manage it.”

Douglas joined Malouf as the fourth employee a little more than five years ago. Previously, he co-founded an award-winning marketing and design agency that helped create the initial Malouf packaging and brand assets. Most recently he was the general manager at Malouf with responsibilities ranging from operations, sales and marketing.

Jeff Holmstead, who joined Malouf in late 2014 after managing a Utah-based furniture store, leads the Western states as regional sales manager over Calif., Ore., Wash., Mont. and Idaho.

After leading the national sales efforts for an outdoor accessories company, Jason Cale joined Malouf in early 2015. Cale oversees the Northeast area including Ky., Ind., Mich., Ohio, W. Va., Md., DC, Del., Pa., N.J., N.Y. Conn., R.I., Mass., Vt., N.H., and Maine.

Tom Spillman, who was formerly a business analyst at a Utah-based public safety software firm, started in May 2016 and manages the Midwest region including N.D., S.D. Neb., Wis., Ill, Minn., and Iowa.

As the regional sales manager over the Southern states, Eric Holmstead oversees Malouf’s sales efforts in Kan., Okla., Texas, Mo., Ark., and La. He joined the company late last year after 10 years in the auto industry where he oversaw sales & business operations.

Jesse Gibbs joined Malouf in May 2016 and brings corporate training, operations and sales experience from the services industry. Gibbs takes the regional sales manager role over the Southeast area including Miss., Tenn., Ala., Fla., Ga., S.C., N.C., and Va.

Josh Fenton brings sales management experience from the healthcare and textiles industries. Fenton started with Malouf July of 2016 and is the regional sales manager over Nev., Utah, Wyo., Colo., Ariz., and N.M.

Trevor Fenton, who also joined in July of this year, is the international sales manager and also oversees various sales initiatives that provide support to the regional managers and Malouf’s larger customers. He joins the team after managing operations for a Utah-based technology company.

Mike Douglas  shared, “We’re very excited to expand the work of our sales force. I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to help recruit and train our sales managers and support staff. Each have a unique skillset that fits their responsibilities. They come with great backgrounds and fresh ideas to move us to the next level.”

Malouf’s substantial growth was evident at the most recent Las Vegas Market. Company officials reported increased traffic—the most it has ever seen—and more orders than any other market to date.
