Bayer Shows New Coatings Meet The Industrial Market's Demand

The industrial market is increasingly looking for highperformance, sustainable coatings to protect its assets. The versatility of ultraviolet- (UV) cured waterborne polyurethane dispersions (PUDs) from Bayer MaterialScience LLC is just one reason they are ideally suited for applications such as coatings for metal and plastic components used in consumer and industrial products.

This coatings technology offers lower volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and volatile hazardous air pollutants (VHAPS) than solventborne coatings, while still providing the performance characteristics necessary for a variety of demanding applications.

Raymond Stewart, senior scientist, Coatings, Adhesives & Specialties, Bayer MaterialScience LLC, will present “Waterborne UV-curable Coatings for Industrial Market Segments” at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, during the RadTech UV & EB Technology Expo and Conference being held May 12-14 in Chicago. Stewart will discuss a formulating strategy for using blends of UV-curable PUDs and non-UV curable PUDs to attain desired film properties. In addition to Stewart’s presentation, show attendees can learn more about Bayer’s raw materials for coatings by stopping by booth #613 to talk with experts and see several floor samples made possible with Bayer raw materials.
