We're Seeing Products and Technology That Build on Past Versions

Thus far this year at CES, we're seeing products and technology that build on past versions and make them better, smoother, and more intuitive.

First case in point: The first production models of UltraHD are on display, with four times the detail of current HD sets. OLED TVs are also being unveiled.

Also on show are refinements to smart controls, such as gesture controls for TVs; companies have focused on making them more intuitive and natural, thus easier to use.

In phones, we're seeing pocket- and budget-busting models such as the 6-inch Huawei Ascend.

One growing area in the digital device world is fitness devices that help you monitor your exercise, heart rate and eating habits. The Happy Fork, for example, is really a fork—that monitors how fast you eat!
