BMW Has Reported 13.2% Rise in Its Vehicle Sales

German carmaker BMW has reported 13.2% rise in its vehicle sales during October 2012 to 157,618 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce vehicles compared to 139,284 units delivered during the corresponding month in 2011.

During the initial ten months of 2012, the carmaker sold 1,493,153 units, reporting a 8.8% rise over 1,371,903 units sold during same period in 2011.

BMW Board of Management member Ian Robertson said following a record third quarter, the firm posted its highest ever sales for the month of October.

"We achieved solid gains in many of our markets last month, especially in Asia and the Americas and we aim to continue the momentum in the next months," Robertson said.

"We are well on course to achieve a new sales record in 2012, despite the headwind present in some European markets."

The rise has been driven by rise in vehicle sales in Asia, where BMW reported 36.5% rise in sales during the period to 41,028 units, while the sales from the start of 2012 rose 28.1% to 398,870. \

BMW Group delivered 71,368 vehicles in Europe during October, while it sold 711,197 vehicles during the first nine months of 2012.
