Anheuser-Busch and Millercoors Posted The Ingredients Online for Some of Its Products

Beer giants Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors have posted the ingredients online for some of its products, following a petition from a food blogger.

The move is in line with food blogger Vani Hari's petition on FoodBabe.com to make major brewers to list the ingredients that are used in their beverages.

Treasury Department - the US agency that regulates beer- does not require brewers to post ingredients on their labels or websites.

However, customers ought to have the information about the ingredients being used in beer, according to Hari.

Anheuser-Busch has listed the ingredients for two of its brands including Budweiser and Bud Light that are made with water, barley malt, rice, yeast and hops, with plans to release the ingredients list for other brands over the future.

Meanwhile, MillerCoors listed the ingredients of Miller Lite, Coors Light and six other brands, which contain water, barley malt, corn, yeast and hops.

MillerCoors spokesman Pete Marino was quoted by USA TODAY as saying, "We value transparency and we will strongly consider the request for putting more ingredient information online."
