Haigh's Chocolates Opens New Processing Plant in South Australia

Haigh's Chocolates has opened its new multimillion dollar chocolate processing plant in Adelaide, South Australia.

The state-of-the-art chocolate processing plant located in the suburb of Mile End will have the capacity to produce up to 2,000 tonnes of milk and dark chocolate per year. This compares to 700 tonnes produced currently.

The chocolate made at this site is then used to create our delicious range of over 250 products at our factory in Parkside.

This factory is now the largest cocoa bean processing plant in Australia and the most modern of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

Equipment was purchased from Europe and our engineers from abroad spent many months working on the on-site assembly.  An extensive testing process was then put in place to ensure replication of the exact chocolate products made with our old equipment.

The additional production capacity will allow for our continued growth in Australia and potentially overseas.

This new chocolate making facility at Mile End is currently closed to the public.  Our factory viewing tours continue to be available at the Visitor Centre and Parkside factory site.
